After boycotting assessment work to get the government to release their long overdue salaries and pensions, junior college teachers will go on a day-long hunger strike today.

After boycotting assessment work to get the government to release their long overdue salaries and pensions, junior college teachers will go on a day-long hunger strike today.

Around 80 per cent of the teachers are supporting the boycott.

Since the HSC exams started on February 26, several teachers have refused to correct the answer papers.

They generally get 200 papers to complete within 8-10 days. However, many have not taken any assessment work for a fortnight.
