Forced stepfather into kidnap car after he was denied amount needed for acting lessons
Mikhil Lalit Arora (34) had reportedly decided to walk out of his family's life completely if his stepfather Pradeep Sood (61) gave Rs 3 lakh.
Sood, who would give Rs 1 lakh as monthly pocket money to Arora, refused. Arora was arrested on Tuesday night after he unsuccessfully tried to kidnap his stepfather for ransom (see box).
Arora, who wanted to take an acting course in Juhu and move in with a friend at Vile Parle, is now behind bars.

Senior PI Vinayak Kakade from Dindoshi police station said, "He is disturbed, but has not admitted to the crime."
Arora claimed his stepfather had willingly entered the car said to have been used in the kidnapping.
A reckless lifestyle of parties, drinks and drugs, had allegedly caused a rift between Arora and his parents. He lived with them in a third floor apartment in Dindoshi.

"I wish him good luck and want the law to take its course," said Sood. Tara (54), Arora's mother, refused to comment and burst into tears.
Kakade added said, "Arora asked his father for money and had also expressed his desire to move out. After an argument, he abused his mother and forced his stepfather into the car."
Neighbours said they were fed up of the repeated fights in the family. Basant Hardikar, resident and society chairman said, "His father spoke to me but did not discuss his son.
He was a little worried about dealing with the police, as he is a senior citizen."
The Incident
On Tuesday evening, Arora allegedly demanded Rs 3 lakh from his stepfather. On being refused, he threw things around in a fit, and assaulted his mother, and threatened his stepfather with an air gun and two knives.
Around 9 pm, he forced Sood into his black Maruti Swift and drove him to Malabar Hill, where Sood's sister lives.u00a0 Arora called her and demanded Rs 3 lakh and threatened to kill Sood.

She informed the police, who laid a trap near El Palazzo building. At 10.15 pm, the cops located Arora's car but he sped away, which led to a chase. He was finally nabbed near Kemps Corner.
