Let us gallop, cycle, walk across Sea link

Weirdos are crawling out of the cabled-frame of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link (BWSL).

First came reports that Telugu actor Rajendra Prasad wants to cross the Sea Link on horseback for his film Quickgun Murugan, which is being produced by a major foreign studio.

But Prasad is not alone. Among the other weird requests that the MSRDC has received several is one from Nimesh Mansukhlala Jivrajani (29). The resident of Bhavnagar, Gujarat, wants to cycle across the the bridge.

BJP MLA Sardar Tara Singh has also joined this league. On Monday, he wants to walk across the Sea Link, which is strictly forbidden.

u00a0My walk on Monday is my way of protesting the MSRDC's unfairness to pedestrians," he said.

Jivrajani, who has in the past cycled from Bhavanagar to Kanyakumari via Maharashtra and Karnataka in 21 days, now wants to cycle across the Sea Link. Yet again, two-wheelers are not allowed on the BWSL.u00a0

"I want to use the BWSL as a platform to underline the need to save water and trees, which is important because the country is facing water shortage.

I hope the MSRDC allows it. I have ridden in hostile weather earlier, and I can handle the risks here," said Jivrajani.

For good measure, the cyclist has attached certificates won at various bike races to his letter to the MSRDC.

'Ridiculous!'

Meanwhile, the MSRDC is reeling from shock. "Just listen to these requests! They are ridiculous.

We have to keep traffic regulations in mind and we can't allow anyone to take an animal on the bridge. The actor wants to ride on a horse on it. It's impossible!" said a senior MSRDC official.

BWSL Rules

Not Allowed: Two wheelers, animals, pedestrians
Allowed: Four wheelers, cars, buses
Toll: Car Rs 50, bus Rs 100
