Politics over a separate Vidarbha has reared its head once again. On Tuesday, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers disrupted a press conference called by the Vidarbha Rajya Andolan Samiti at the Press Club.
MNS leader Amey Khopkar and 10-12 party workers reached the venue and started shouting slogans in favour of a united Maharashtra. MNS Corporator and group leader in the BMC Sandeep Deshpande said, “Our party’s stand has been that the state remains one. The people who are trying to break the state should understand that we will not let it happen.”
The press conference was being addressed by AAP leader Wamanrao Chatap, who was earlier associated with the late leader Sharad Joshi of the Swatantra Bharat Paksh. During the conference, Chatap even argued with MNS party workers.
