It seems all's fair in films and politics. Mumbai Regional Congress Committee (MRCC) president Kripashankar Singh is set to don the greasepaint again.

He will star in a Marathi film on the anti-migrant issue and a Hindi film on village Thakurs.

Both these films will be produced by Bhojpuri actor Ravi Kishen, whose rival Manoj Tiwari is Singh's co-star in his first film, titled Gobar Singh.

The plots

Singh, who claimed he did not find acting difficult, said, "The Marathi film will tell people that Marathi is not a language, but a culture.

Explaining the storyline of the Hindi film, Singh said, "The Thakur of the village is a villain, while his wife is a do-gooder who feels the villagers are her own people.

She is loved and respected and she eventually transforms her husband into a better human being."

Singh said the production dates and other details of the films were yet to be worked out. "I have just got Ravi Kishen's offer for the two films.

He will produce both. While the basic concept is ready, the other details will be finalised once Kishen returns to town," said Singh.

Interestingly, Singh had debuted as an actor in the Bhojpuri film Gobar Singh, which also stars Kishen's rival Manoj Tiwari.

With Kishen belonging to the Congress and Tiwari to the Samajwadi Party, both are also political rivals.

Commenting on the rivalry, Singh said, "I have tried to end their so-called differences. I see both as artists and not as politicians."

The production of the two films is expected to begin in July. Gobar Singh is also slated to release the same month.
