The foundation stone of a memorial, paying homage to the officers and jawans who sacrificed their lives in the 26/11 terror attack, was laid at a college in Wada here on Friday.

Thane DSP (Rural) Naval Bajaj, who laid the foundation stone for the memorial at the Swami Vivekananda Degree College, said it would go a long way in 'inspiring courage among the youths'.

The work on the memorial would be completed within a month, Omprakash Sharma, founder of Shaheed Smarak Samiti which is building the memorial, said.
