Nine months after DIG Sunil Paraskar was booked for raping a 27-year-old model, the Crime Branch’s Crime Against Women (CAW) Cell filed a chargesheet in the Borivli court yesterday. The model had alleged that Paraskar (57) had sexually assaulted her on two occasions in December 2013 and the IPS officer had been suspended following the allegations.

The 724-page chargesheet mentions 59 witnesses. Statements under Section 164 of the CrPC, were taken of important witnesses like the model, the driver who dropped her to the bungalow at Madh island — which was one of the places where the alleged rape took place — the caretaker of the bungalow, who has said he saw the model and Paraskar there on the day of the alleged rape, the owner of the bungalow and a few policemen.

The chargesheet also includes the logbook of Paraskar’s (official) car, maintained by his driver, which shows his movements, said a police source. The police have also got 7 to 8 CDs containing conversations held between the model and Paraskar. These CDs are also part of the chargesheet.
