Sunita Yadav (26) was said to be depressed for the last couple of days. At 7.30 am yesterday, she went up to the terrace of her building at Lodha Park, Naya Nagar, along with her children - Tisha (4), Nisha (2) and Abhishek (1). She threw her children down one-by-one before leaping.
While Tisha died on the spot, Sunita, Nisha and Abhishek were battling for life at Nanavati Hospital in Santacruz yesterday. But according to an officer from Mira Road police station, "We have got a call at around 12.30 am from the hospital informing us that the all three patients had gained consciousness and their condition was stable."
Preliminary inquiries have revealed that Sunita's husband, Shiv Shankar Yadav, was jobless for sometime and frequent arguments over running the household led to the tragedy.
The case has been registered under CrPC Section 174 (accidental death). However, since Sunita had not written a suicide note, the police will be able make any headway into the case only after recording her statement.u00a0
