This would mean that the 38,000 odd black and yellow taxis and 1.05 lakh autos in Mumbai will soon recalibrate their e-meters and revise it to the proposed Re 1 hike in minimum fares.
This hike is as suggested by the recently scrapped Hakim Committee. The government will keep this committee recommendation until new formula for calculating fares is ready. The Weights and Measures department will be recalibrating the e-meters.
