In a city where opportunists are waiting to prey on you, Mehul Khokhani is a lucky man!

Despite forgetting his cash-laden pouch in a prepaid cool cab, Khokhani recovered it thanks to its honest driver Jagat Singh. The pouch contained Rs 1.25 lakh.

Singh, a cool cab driver and a resident of Borivli, had ferried Khokhani from the domestic terminal to his Pedder Road residence on the night of January 10. Khokhani, who was flying back from Kolkata following a business trip, had booked Singh's cab at the airport. After dropping Khokhani, Singh ferried two more passengers at Babulnath and Altamount Road.

Surprisingly, the pouch went unnoticed, as it had slipped under the driver's seat.

Thanking his lucky stars, Khokhani said, "I was returning home from a business trip, when I forgot my pouch in the cab. After reaching home I realised that the pouch was missing, following which I rushed back to the airport. With the help of the receipt issued to me while booking the cab [MH02 BQ 2140], I managed to contact Singh's brother. I had lost all hope of recovering the money, but thanks to the driver I got it back. I think I am extremely lucky."

Speaking to mid-day, Singh said, "I was working my regular shift and after dropping my last passenger to the airport from Altamount Road, I headed home. After reaching home, I was told about the call from one of my passengers, inquiring about a pouch. Upon searching the cab, I found it under the driver's seat, following which I called the passenger and asked him to collect it from my Borivli residence."
