Mumbai witnessed heavy rainfall on Wednesday night resulting in falling of trees in many parts of the city.

The heavy downpour saw 20 trees being uprooted in areas like Colaba, Byculla, Mahim, Ghatkopar, Kandivali, and Borivali.

Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) director said that the expected rainfall might be heavy to very heavy for the next 48 hours. “Rainfall is expected for the next two days, intermediate sometime heavy” said V K Rajeev Director of IMD.

According to IMD report, rain shower in Colaba is 41.7 mm while in Santacruz is 17.6mm.
Cases of water logging have been reported in Yari Road, Versova, Andheri West, Santacruz, Bandra, Mahim areas but it was receded shortly.
