The Mumbai Cyber Cell has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against an unidentified person in the case of hacking of the Instagram account of actress and politician Urmila Matondkar.

On December 16, Matondkar had made a written complaint to the Mumbai Cyber Cell after her account was hacked. The Shiv Sena leader had posted on her Twitter account that her profile was hacked after she responded to a direct message on the photo-video sharing app.

In another tweet, she said that cybercrime is not something that women should take lightly. Furthermore, the 46-year-old actress said that she has filed an FIR with the state police's cyber wing and also shared a picture with Rashmi Karandikar, DCP, Cyber Cell.
Her account was restored a day later. However the actress had complained that few of her posts were still missing.

"And I'm back again. Thank you @instagram and @mumbaipolice for all your cooperation in retrieving my account even though few of my posts are missing. Lots of love to all my #instafamily," Urmila had written on Instagram.
