Unisex lungis, anyone? Mother-daughter duo of Pavithra and Vipra Muddaya from Bangalore are set to introduce Mumbai&rsquo;s stylistas to some truly unique and traditional designs that have been re-created by skilled craftsmen.

Vimor (their brand) will be at ARTISANS&rsquo; on October 9 and 10 for the real deal. An element from the collection for this show that caught our attention in particular was the uber-chic cotton, handwover lungies/sarongs that sported cool contemporary designs by Pavithra and Arup Nanjappa.
Veering from the usual palette of dull colours, these colourful checks are sure to grab eyeballs, in case you decide to flaunt these at the next big social do. We dare!
Of poetry and music What could be more perfect than evenings filled with poetry and music? The 5th edition of the global movement 100 Thousand Poets for Change will pay tribute to the five elements &mdash; Agni (Fire), Vayu (Air), Akash (Sky), Prithvi (Earth) and Jal (Water).

The evening will witness a host of performances including a mime act by Natya Kiran Manch, music by Vocalist Dhammarakshit Randive from Natural Streets for Performing Arts poetry readings by Binu Karunakaran, Danish Husain, Dinkar Manwar, MK Ajay, Manisha Lakhe, and Sanjeev Khandekar among many others. The event will also feature a poetry performance by theatre personalities, bringing alive poetry by Faiz, Rajesh Joshi, Pash and Hubnath Pandey.
Watch out for a special programme by school children in Mumbai, co-ordinated by Mrs Rati Dady Wadia, a well-known educationist and former principal Queen Mary School, with a skit by Katie Bagli, written eespecially for 100 Thousand Poets for Change. Students of Queen Mary School, Campion School, Activity School, GD Somani, Gopi Birla School, and Writer&rsquo;s Bug, among others, will present their own poetry composed especially for the occasion.
The global movement, 100 Thousand Poets for Change began in 2011. An event that began primarily with poet organisers, 100 Thousand Poets for Change, has grown into an interdisciplinary coalition with year-round events, which now include musicians, dancers, mimes, painters and photographers from around the world.
Lalbaug (s)lowdown Yesterday turned out to be a nightmare for many unsuspecting folk, especially if they had to head towards the hub of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations &mdash; Lalbaug.
When entry to the roads running parallel to the Lalbaug flyover were shut in the first half of the day, all hell broke loose. Naturally, the arterial roads around the area were choc-a-bloc as vehicular traffic crawled past the gullies of Naigaon and Bhoiwada.
The only people who seemed to be enjoying this zigzag, long-drawn trail to reach destinations in and around Lalbaug were, who else, but the kaali-peeli cabwallahs, who ended up earning a cool extra 30-40 bucks, at the very least.
Time to clean the mess one question that arises after every party is who will clean up the mess. And when it is an epic celebration like Ganesh Chaturthi, the mess is of epic proportions too.

LocalOye, a company that offers a variety of services for your home, will be cleaning up the Dadar beach on Monday (6 am onwards) post immersion. Followed by this, Pinkathon, an international all women&rsquo;s run, will organise a run in Shivaji Park. Talk about taking corporate social responsibilities to the next level.
