Mumbai heritage tour to mark Sir JJ's birth aniv

To mark the 225th birth anniversary of Sir Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy, his descendant Sir Rustom Jejeebhoy, has organised a tour on an open deck heritage bus on March 7.

To mark the 225th birth anniversary of Sir Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy, hisu00a0descendant Sir Rustom Jejeebhoy, has organised a tour on an open deck heritage bus on March 7.

The bus will take the visitors to prominent institutions with which the philanthropist was closely associated.


The tour will visit JJ Hospital, CST station and Asiatic Library among other institutions (for full list, see below).


In addition the Tour will also provide a rare opportunity to get a first hand viewing of Sir J J's Diaries that are maintained in the Reading Room at Bombay University.


The tour will be conducted by Professor Aban Sethna, visiting faulty at JJ School of Arts and will begin at 3pm.

Tour itinerary

  • Sir J J School of Art (Starting Point at Lord Reay's statue)
  • Sir J J Hospital
  • Victoria Terminus
  • Sir J J Parsee Benevolent Institution / Bombay Parsee Punchayet
  • Asiatic Society of Mumbai (Town Hall)
  • Reading Room at University of Mumbai, and
  • Statue of Sir J J near Oval Maidan (Tour Ends)
