Longu00a0cab journeys may be a thing of the past. The newly-launched in-taxi magazine called Mum-Baae is all set to entertain you.

If you are fed up with the taxiwala's play-list and don't have any other mode of entertainment, you may just have to request the cabbie to hand over the magazine to you.

The fortnightly taxi-tabloid, specially meant for commuters, was launched on Tuesday and will be available with every cabbie.

The tabloid's first issue that was launched yesterday is jointly published by Vishnu Kadam and Mumbai Taximen's Union. The magazine contains useful information for the commuter like art, theatre, movies and sports and articles.

The positives are that the commuter can utilise his time reading the 15days of what and where of the city which includesu00a0 which are good for the eyes while the jam is on.

The publishers are expecting a readership of more than 37 lac as the tabloid would be circulated amongst 50,000 taxis.

However, there are several howlers in the first edition. The rate card printed on the last page of the magazine is outdated. Being published only in English, if one is not good at it, this tabloid may not be as helpful.

There are no incentives for the taxi drivers so the question is why would the cabbies keep this tabloid in their taxis?

In addition, there is just one magazine per cab. "Nothing can be done if a passenger walks away with the magazine", said, General Secretary of Mumbai Taxi men's Union, Al Quadros.

But things could get better in time to come.
