Mumbai: After railway, auto, taxi, petrol, diesel now its Mumbai’s famous Dabbawalas who have decided to hike their delivery charges by Rs 100 per month.

Dabbawalas have hiked their rates by Rs. 100
The delivery charges depend up on the distance to and fro of the office-goers. The charges are varied from Rs 500 to Rs 800. Last year the dabbawala association has hike Rs 100 per month while there was Rs 50 earlier few years.
“We have been forced to hike the charges as all other factors affect our livelihood,” said Raghunath Medge, chairman of the association. About 5000 dabbawalas delivers over 2 lakh tiffin daily across the city with uninterrupted service. Subhash Talekar spokesperson of the association said that random Rs 100 hike will be in force from July.
The city’s dabbawala are known to be ‘management guru’ and famous for their delivery system.
