Cops will limit their checks on BWSL to once a month, as it obstructs traffic flow
Sixteen people have been arrested for drunken driving on the Bandra-Worli Sea Linku00a0 (BWSL) since it was opened to traffic over a fortnight ago.
But the Sea Link will not be a part of the traffic police's regular campaign against drunken driving.
"We had conducted two drives on BWSL and caught 12 and four drunk drivers respectively.
But we've found that our drive was obstructing traffic flow.
So, we've decided to conduct surprise checks once a month instead of the regular drives conducted on Wednes-day, Friday and Saturday," said a senior traffic official.
