"Our flights to Malaysia are completely booked for December. We believe that this demand for tickets is partly due to the end of global recession," confirmed the official spokesperson for Jet Airways adding, "Our flights to Dubai, Malaysia, the US and European countries are fully booked till February. Our airlines partner Air Mauritius has confirmed it is the same with their flights to Mauritius." The spokesperson added that the holiday season has picked up, compared to last year.
Bookings closed
Booking agents too are happy with the scenario. Rakesh Pandey, managing director, Rakesh Tour and Travels said, "We have already booked more than 1,000 outbound tickets. In fact, we have closed bookings for Malaysia, Dubai, Singapore and Mauritius, as all the airlines are already completely packed. In the domestic sector, Goa is in great demand and there are hardly any tickets left." Sharda Kori from Soni Tour and Travels refused to give an exact figure, but said, "There is a terrific increase in the number of outbound tickets this holiday season, compared to last year." Yogesh Kumar (39), a manager with an MNC has already booked his family's tickets for a vacation in Malaysia and Singapore. "I had to cancel my vacation last year it due to recession. This year, work pressure is much less and I'm happy I can go."

On an average, 250 outbound flights (excluding foreign airlines) from India fly to international destinations every day. According to a recent survey, about 10 million passengers from India flew to outbound destinations in the year 2008. A growth of 16 million is expected in 2010
