The Congress has been crying hoarse about the achievements of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and has even

announced that he is their candidate for the coveted post in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Krishna Hegde, spokesperson, Mumbai Regional Congress Committee, said "Rahul will be the star campaigner for our party. His appeal lies not only among the youth, but also cuts across all sections of society. We believe he is a youth icon and hence, will feature on the party posters."
Future plans
Party officials added that the Congress is looking at projecting Rahul as the prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. They clarified that the move to have him on the posters is not belittling Manmohan Singh in any way.
Rahul has himself said that Singh is his prime ministerial choice.
The All India Congress Committee (AICC) directed the regional Congress committees to put up hoardings in every constituency of the country.
