The high court, on Thursday, observed that they would have to examine whether the mob posed a threat to convicted police officer Manohar Kadam, his platoon, or the public during the July 1997 communal tension after the desecration of an Ambedkar statue at Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar. The court was to decide on his bail plea today.
He was convicted and was given life imprisonment for ordering firing on a dalit mob protesting at Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar in suburban Ghatkopar in July 1997.
