Kapoor was speaking during a Master Class he conducted for the students of Whistling Woods International, a film institute founded by filmmaker Subhash Ghai.
The actor said that the skill has to be honed over a period of time and actors need to work hard to earn success. Recalling an incident during the shooting of his debut movie Bobby, Kapoor said he expected professionals like dance masters to teach him.
"But there were none. I requested my director father Raj Kapoor for guidance as I had no knowledge," he said. The actor said his father told him, "what you dont know is where you will score, that will be your style. create your individuality and be an asset of yours."
Stressing the importance of film institutes, the actor said it is important for actors today to know all facets of filmmaking.
