87-year-old diehard fan wants Sachin to score his 100th ton on home ground; recalls Master Blaster's promise to take her to watch an ODI
Whenever there is an India match, a doctor is summoned to the Serrao household in Malad to keep a tab on the shooting blood pressure of an 87-year-old ardent Sachin Tendulkar fan, who can't get her eyes off the television screen when the Master Blaster is batting.
Mary Serrao instructed her family members to sit still while Sachin was batting against Australia
Meet Mary Serrao, an avidu00a0 Tendulkar fan. She was in seventh heaven when she met the living legend of cricket during a shoot in Bandra two years ago.
According to Mary, the cricketer, with whom she shares her birthday, had promised to take her to Wankhede stadium to watch India play during their brief meeting. "When I told him that we share birthdays, he was sweet enough to order a cake," recalled the grandmother of five.
Sachin might have missed the opportunity to hit his career's 100th ton in yesterday's match against Australia, but his die-hard fan believes that he will achieve the milestone in the World Cup finals at Wankhede stadium.

"So what if he missed the milestone against Australia, I am sure when India will play in the World Cup final, he will score a century," she said.
According to family members, Mary was anxious since morning. Aware that it would be a do-or-die match, she spent the morning in prayer for the team.
When Sachin-Sehwag came to open the innings, Mary instructed everyone not to move an inch as it would bring bad luck.

"Every time Sachin hit a four, grandma would shout and when he missed a ball, she would get anxious," said her grandson Sunny.
He added, "Whenever there is an India match, we call a doctor home so that we can keep a check on her fluctuating blood pressure."
Mary was very happy to see Sachin score a half century. But when he was declared out, she walked out of the room only to return in a while to say, "Better luck next time Sachin! See you at Wankhede."
