Charu (28) was awake when SRK arrived at the ICU department, where she is being monitored, and was seen smiling at the superstar. However, she was unable to converse with him as she was on a ventilator. Shah Rukh was heard saying 'God bless you' to the animator who had worked on his last release Ra.One, for which she had won a national award.

The doctors state Charu's condition to be critical, and the same was explained to Shah Rukh, who had requested the doctors to brief him about her condition. After speaking to them for 25 minutes, King Khan was seen stepping out and hugging Charu's mother. Whatever the doctors conveyed to him, Shah Rukh narrated it to the grieving kin.
"She will be back to work soon," he told the mother, and repeatedly mentioned that "everything will be all right." He also mentioned that one person from his Red Chillies firm would be present at the hospital every day, and that his office was ready to provide monetary help towards the expenses incurred.
Citing an instance of the injury he had sustained to his hand during the shooting of a movie, he said, "It took almost a year for my injury to heal, but Charu will recover faster, as she is young and resilient."u00a0 Charu who met with the accident on Sunday morning, will be undergoing a major surgery today, and, incidentally, SRK's doctor, Anand B Subramaniam will be operating on her. Shah Rukh also enquired about Vikrant, who was injured in the mishap.
The incident
Charu Khandal suffered serious injuries to her spine after the auto rickshaw she was traveling in was hit by a speeding Honda City in Oshiwara, Andheri (West) on Sunday.u00a0 She was returning home after having dinner at Juhu with her sister Mona, and friend Vikrant Goel, when the mishap occurred at an intersection. The cops booked the driver of the car Manoj Kumar Gautam, a Lokhandwala resident, for rash driving and driving in a drunken state, but released him on bail the next day.
