A GIRGAUM-based Shiv Sainik and owner of a Shiv Vada Pav stall has written to senior party leader Vinayak Raut asking him to compensate for the loss caused or take action against some party members who had placed a bulk order with her and cancelled it at the last minute.

Shobha Manjrekar shot off the letter to Raut after South Mumbai Vibhag Pramukh Pandurang Sapkal and Shakha Pramukh Santosh Mane allegedly caused her a loss of Rs 8,200.

According to Manjrekar, Shiv Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray attended a function at Girgaum on January 9. He released the Maharashtra Suvarnakar Sena calendar and addressed the Sahitya Sangh.

Some students had been invited for the function and an order for 1,200 vada pavs had been placed with Manjrekar for them. The order was cancelled after some time.

When Shobha asked for the Rs 8, 200 owed to her, Sapkal and Mane allegedly abused and threatened her. Fed up, she complained in writing to Raut last week.

"When I asked for the money, they abused and threatened me. I had no choice but to complain to a senior leader," said Shobha.

Mane, meanwhile, said, "I helped her in the allotment of the stall and also with money from time to time. I never placed a vada pav order with her. I placed it with her sons, who are not complaining. If they demand the money, I will pay immediately."

Raut was out of the city and asked us to speak to Sapkal.

"We gave dhoklas to the students. The vada pav stall is run by Manjrekar's relative. If she has any complaint, she should to talk to me. I will pay the money," said Sapkal.
