The third phase of voting for the 15th Lok Sabha elections saw a less than 10 per cent turnout in South Mumbai till 9.30 am today, according to election officer Ajit Kesari. Businessman Anil Ambani was one of the first people to cast his vote when voting began at 7 am. Sitting MP from the constituency and Congress candidate Milind Deora also cast his vote.

"Usually, the voter turnout is more in the mornings in South Mumbai. We expect the numbers to increase as the day progresses," said Kesari. There was a flurry of activity in the constituency in the past few days with activists sending letters and SMSes urging people to vote since many people are likely to go on a holiday because of a weekend following the voting day.
