to Amitabh Bachchan. A visibly excited Azhar after returning from the Oscars had said that even a superstar like Amitabh Bachchan had not walked the Oscars red carpet, a privilege that he had earned.
"I was so happy that I was not aware of what I am saying. I had said that though I live in slums and Amitabh uncle has lots of money and power, I got the Oscar," admits Azhar.
Azhar's mother took up for him as well. Shamim Mohammad said, "My son said something he shouldn't have. He was overwhelmed and didn't understand what to say."
Interestingly, Azhar and the other child actors from Slumdog, who were the star attraction at the Oscars, were initially not permitted entry at the Filmfare Awards on Saturday. According to Azhar, they were allowed to attend the awards function, but were made to wait outside the gate for a long time.
At the awards, Azhar said he rubbed shoulders with a number of Bollywood biggies, including Sr Bachchan.u00a0u00a0
u00a0"When I came face to face with Amitabh uncle, I felt he was staring at me. This could be because of what I said about him not making it to the Oscars. I realised I was wrong and I own him an apology, but I want to meet him personally," Azhar added.
Though it is actor Salman Khan that Azhar swears by, Big B is on his mind at the moment.
However, Azhar may have to wait a while till he hears from Amitabh uncle.
