In an unfortunate incident, an 18 year-old boy who had failed to clear his HSC examination committed suicide on Saturday. Aakash Patil, who was dejected with his result, took the drastic step by hanging himself from a ceiling fan. His body was discovered at around 10 am, when his 15 year-old younger brother, Aniket Patil entered the room to pick up a few books.

Aakash was an orphan who, along with his brother lived with his uncle Rajesh Patil in Versova. "He was good at studies. He used to actually teach other students in his tuition class. Although he was visibly upset with the results, we did not think he would take such a drastic step. He used to always be among the first five rank-holders students in his class; he was expecting a good result," said a weeping Rajesh.
