Trichur-based Dr Satheesh K (40), a gastroenterologist, is terribly upset with Jet Airways since his December 8 Kochi-Mumbai-Kolkata Jet Airways flight with his wife and five-year-old daughter in tow took nearly 12 hours instead ofu00a0 five.
"I boarded the Jet airways flight at 1 pm so I could catch the connecting flight at 3.45 am from Mumbai.

However, as the airport is closed on Tuesdays and due to low visibility conditions at the Mumbai airport, our flight made an unscheduled one-hour stop at Ahmedabad, where we were not allowed to deplane.
The crew assured us that we would be able to use the airport restaurant at Mumbai," said Satheesh.
Hunger pangs
"By the time we reached Mumbai around 6 pm, we had already missed the flight to Kolkata, and were later told that the plane we were on would fly there. We were in Mumbai till 9 pm but the crew refused to let us deplane.

My daughter and wife were extremely hungry but there was nothing to eat on the flight," added Satheesh.
"When we finally reached our hotel, ITC Sonar Bangla, in Kolkata around 12 am,u00a0we had to satisfy our hunger with snacks and sandwiches as the food was over by that time," said Satheesh, who alleged that the Jet staff at Kolkata refuse to share the numbers or email ids of officials whom he could complain to.
Jet speaks
Jet Airways' official spokesperson Ragini Chopra said the flight had been delayed due to the part closure at Mumbai Airport on Tuesdays.
"We have been facing difficulties on Tuesdays. Flights have to be diverted and delays happen.

I am aware of the issues that this passenger has, but if he feels he has a problem, he must write to us or send an email to our customer relations department. We will investigate the matter."

The Mumbai Airport remains closed on Tuesday to facilitate ongoing repairing work for six hours from 12 pm to 6 pm till March 2010
