State education minister Vinod Tawde, on Thursday, had some good news for those who did not pass the SSC exams.

After mentioning that students who fail in exams need not have to waste an entire academic year to appear for the board examination to clear the same, Tawde announced that a re-examination will be conducted in the second week of July for students who failed the March 2015, SSC examinations.

“Why should students wait till October to give the exam and another few months for results? Our children will get to appear for a re-examination session in July itself and results for the same will be released by third week of August,” said Tawde at a press conference held at Mantralaya.

While only SSC students get to appear for reexaminations in July this year, the same will be applicable to HSC students, next academic year onwards. This year, 52,790 students in Mumbai division failed to make the mark whereas the figure for the state stands at 2,11,636. All these students will be eligible to appear for the re-examination.
