The civic run hospital, which performs at least 90 major and minor surgeries every day, only managed to conduct 57 surgeries yesterday owing to the shortage. The hospital's tank ran out of water, leading to the cancellations.

The surgeries have been rescheduled for Tuesday. Entire parts of South Mumbai are suffering from a water crisis, since the BMC is laying down water tunnels. Manisha Mhaiskar, Additional Municipal Commissioner asked the authorities to contact BMC's hydraulic engineer for water tankers.
Dr Ravi Rannavre, Dean of Nair Hospital, said, "We are planning our strategy for tomorrow so patients
don't have to face any inconvenience." Ramesh Bamble, BMC's chief hydraulic engineer said, "The hospital has not informed us about this. I will look into the matter and see what arrangements can be made for the hospital."
