MLAs livid with MNS's Shirish Parkar for questioning status of Hindi
Hindi is our national language and we are all Hindi. Whatever happened in the Assembly is a matter of shame. The arm-twisting tactics of the MNS will have to stop.
I represent a constituency in Maharashtra and hence took the oath in Marathi. I would also like the work in the House to happen in Marathi.

English is a global language and it represents the global Indian. The MNS should have not used its muscle power against the members of the House.

Shirish Parkar is playing mind games. We have the liberty to choose from Hindi, English and Marathi, so no one is wrong in taking oath in any of the three languages.
Nawab Malik, NCP MLA from Anushakti Nagar
One should ask Shirish Parkar what our national language is if he claims Hindi is not. We won't allow the humiliation of our national language. I fail to understand why the MNS did not raise an issue when an MLA took the oath in English. Whatever happened in the Assembly is shameful.u00a0u00a0
Gopal Shetty, BJP MLA from Borivli
Parkar's comment shows the knowledge he has about the constitution. He needs to educate himself and refrain from making such comments. These people have brought street politics in the assembly.u00a0
Aslam Shaikh, Congress MLA from Malad-Malvani
(Shaikh wanted to take oath in Hindi, but changed his mind at the last minute)
I fail to understand why MNS targets Hindi and allows English. The constitution gives us the right to take oath in any language. Who are these people to stop the MLAs? They cannot convert the assembly into shakhas, where they can beat up anyone.
