Ana Kaisa, a resident of the Philippines, was scheduled to depart for London on Tuesday morning via British Airways’ BA 138 from Mumbai, that takes off at around 2 am from the international terminal. At around 9 pm on Monday, she got stuck in a washroom located on the east side of Terminal 2’s Level Four.
Kaisa then raised an alarm as the door refused to open, and help arrived almost 20 minutes later when an airport security official happened to hear her screams. According to airport officials, the washroom door’s locking mechanism was malfunctioning.
Three other security officials rushed to the spot and the passenger could be released only after the door was broken down. An airport official present at the spot explained, “The lady passenger was stuck for 20 minutes inside the washroom. It took a while to get her out.”
