Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Amit Thackeray on Thursday questioned the conduct of the Navi Mumbai Police, alleging irregularities and political pressure after officers from the Nerul Police Station reportedly attempted to serve him a notice at his residence under unclear circumstances. The notice pertains to a case filed against him for allegedly forcibly unveiling a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Nerul.

In a detailed statement, Thackeray recounted the events, saying, “Yesterday, officers from the Nerul Police Station came to my house with a notice. However, I was not at home at that time. When I returned and inquired with the police personnel stationed downstairs for security, they clearly said — ‘No one came.’ So the question is — where exactly were these police officers waiting for me?”
