Another Worli cylinder blast victim dies; toll now three

Vidya Puri, 25, who sustained 50-60 percent burns and was said to be ‘stable’, succumbed on Monday evening at Kasturba Hospital

Another person injured in the Worli cylinder blast died on Monday, pushing the toll to three. Vidya Puri, 25, succumbed after fighting for life for over a week. A five-year-old child, the lone survivor, is in stable condition and has been shifted to the general ward. 

In the cylinder blast that occurred in a closed room in BDD Chawl in Worli on November 30, four people—a couple and their two sons—were injured. Four-month-old Mangesh Puri died the next day while Anand Puri, 27, his father was in a critical condition. He died on Saturday. Both were admitted to Nair hospital.
