After the deadline for the nominations ended, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its comprehensive list of 137 candidates for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Election, scheduled for January 15, 2026, with the counting on the following day.

The BJP will contest on 137 wards, while its ally, the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, will fight on 90. The alliance aims to secure a strong majority in the 227-ward civic body, which serves over 10.3 crore voters and has one of Asia`s largest municipal budgets.
