The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) released its second list of candidates for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, naming 15 more nominees and taking its total tally to 36 candidates out of 227 wards. Last week, AAP had released a list of 21 candidates.
With the announcement, AAP claimed it has taken an early lead in election preparedness, even as major political parties in Maharashtra are yet to finalise their candidate lists. The party contrasted its readiness with the continuing uncertainty among the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress, and the various factions of Shiv Sena and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
