BMC committed to free, fair and transparent civic polls, says Mumbai civic chief

During a meeting, political party representatives were briefed on administrative, technical and legal aspects of the elections. The BMC informed them that 23 Election Decision Officer offices have been set up across the city, along with details of their respective jurisdictions

BMC chief Bhushan Gagrani holds a meeting with representatives of various political parties on Monday.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) administration and the election machinery are fully committed to conducting the 2025–26 BMC general elections in a free, fair, transparent and disciplined manner, Municipal Commissioner and District Election Officer Bhushan Gagrani said on Monday.

Addressing representatives of various political parties at a meeting held at the BMC headquarters, Gagrani said comprehensive preparations have been made to ensure the smooth conduct of the election process. He emphasised that political parties play a crucial role in strengthening democratic values and appealed to them to strictly adhere to the Model Code of Conduct prescribed by the state election commission.
