The BMC is working towards the Mumbai Environment Action Plan in full swing and is set to sign memorandums of understanding (MoU) for three new ventures on Monday. The three new ventures are Women for Climate, Cities for Forests campaign and e-Bus mission. Environment minister and Mumbai suburban guardian minister Aaditya Thackeray among other ministers is slated to take part in the event. The Women for Climate initiative is aimed at developing leadership skills in women to take the lead in environment protection and conservation initiatives in Mumbai, suggesting various measures to be taken in the city and implementing them in a comprehensive manner.
The second venture is launching a public awareness campaign on Cities for Forests agreement on forest conservation, restoration and management which has been signed by 57 cities around the world, including Mumbai, on September 22 this year.
