The BMC has tightened the home quarantine norms with ward war room (WWR) teams phoning all the passengers under home quarantine five times a day, along with measures such as vigilance through medical ambulance and compulsory RT-PCR test on the seventh day. All international passengers coming from “at-risk” countries will now have to undergo mandatory home quarantine.
“The BMC has introduced a unique and strict home quarantine monitoring mechanism for international passengers arriving in Mumbai from risk countries. It will be as effective as institutional quarantine,” said Iqbal Singh Chahal, the BMC commissioner.
