Several airports across India faced bomb threats on Tuesday, leading to heightened security measures and flight delays. “In the morning, a Dubai-bound flight scheduled to depart from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) received a bomb threat via email. Preliminary investigations revealed that the same threat was emailed to 40 airports across India at approximately 12.40 pm,” said an official from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) headquarters.

“In Coimbatore, a bomb threat was received, but flight services were unaffected. A bomb detection and disposal squad (BDDS) team, along with a sniffer dog squad from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), conducted a thorough search and declared the threat a hoax,” he added.

“A Chennai-Dubai Emirates flight was delayed by about two hours following a bomb threat email received at the airport. The passengers had not yet boarded the plane, which was scheduled to leave at 9.50 am,” the official revealed. “Patna airport also received a threat. The airport director stated that investigations are ongoing and further details are awaited,” said another BCAS official from Delhi HQ.

Jaipur airport reported receiving a threat as well. After security agencies conducted a thorough investigation, the police said, “The airport was thoroughly checked, but nothing suspicious has been found so far.” Vadodara airport heightened security measures after receiving a bomb threat in the afternoon. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure the safety and security of all passengers and airport personnel. There is no official statement from the ministry of civil aviation on the matter till the time of going to press.
