The Bombay High Court has held that a daughter can question in court the validity of her father's second marriage. In a judgement pronounced on Wednesday, a bench of Justices RD Dhanuka and VG Bisht allowed the plea filed by a 66-year-old woman challenging a family court order that held only parties to a marriage could challenge the validity of the marriage.
As per the judgement, the woman filed a plea in the family court in 2016, challenging the validity of her late father's second marriage.
