CBSE Std XII result: Most Mumbai schools score over 98 per cent

After a long anxious wait the Central Board of Secondary Education CBSE declared the Std XII result on Friday City schools were elated to have a significant number of students scoring above 90 per centWith overall passing percentage of 98 across India the result has definitely brought smiles to the faces of lakhs of students The result was declared under unprecedented conditions ie no exam due to the pandemic and students and schools are glad to see the result While most schools have recorded 100 per cent result many students have scored above 90 per centldquoThe CBSE board also referred to past results of its students The result is totally justifiedrdquo said J Mohanty principal of DPS Nerul The Navi Mumbai school has 100 per cent students scoring first division while 83 per cent of its students scored above 90 per cent At R N Podar School the highest number of students 4414 per cent scored above 90 per cent This is followed by 3795 per cent students scoring between 80 per cent90 per centDr Madhu Singh principal Billabong High International School Malad and J Mohanty principal of DPS NerulKalpana Dwivedi principal of Bal Bharati Public School said ldquoDefinitely everyone was worried and there was confusion around the result considering the very new format but after the result everybody is elatedrdquoDr Madhu Singh principal Billabong High International School Malad said ldquoIt has been a historic year where the performance of the child over three academic sessions has been considered If this system is brought into the mainstream it will keep students more focused toward giving a continuous improved performance instead of waiting for one examinationThe figuresOut of a total of 1369745 students registered for the exam results were declared for 1304561 students Pune region which covers Maharashtra has recorded passing percentage of 9935 per cent and is ranked 10th in total 16 regions of CBSE across the nation Trivandrum ranks first with 9989 percentAs usual girls have done better than boys with 9967 per cent while boys scored 9913 per cent Transgenders recorded cent percent passing percentage A total of 70004 students scored above 95 per cent At least 150152 scored above 90 per cent There was no merit list this yearFor a total of 65184 students the wait is a bit longer as their result will be declared on August 5Special mentionsAyush Jha from DPS Nerul who scored 971 per cent was really happy to share his story Ayush who comes from a doctorrsquos family was infected by COVID19 in the month of April when the school had declared the timetable for practical tests ldquoI missed two days of practical session sessions But after two days the timetable was cancelled as the civic body issued strict instructions It was after this CBSE declared that all practical exams will also be held onlinerdquo said Ayush He is focused at preparing for NEET in September as he aspires to become doctorParvati Paniker from the Bal Bharati Public School who has scored 71 per cent lost her mother to COVID as she and her parents were hospitalized for treatmentldquoInitially I was with my mother in the same hospital but since her condition deteriorated she was shifted to another hospital There it deteriorated further and she passed away on April 12rdquo said Parvati who came to know later as her family had kept this information from her because she was recovering in another hospital aloneldquoMy younger sister Shivpriya is the strongest as though she knew about mom she kept it from me and told me that she was fine whenever I spoke to her over phone I was discharged on April 27 and finally met my family and that is when Shivpriya broke down after I was told about motherrdquo said Parvati who thanked her teachers and school for helping her in the difficult time
