Central Railway upgrades passenger amenities across Mumbai division

Four new escalators have been commissioned, two each at Dombivli (platforms 3 and 4) and Kurla (platforms 5 and 6). To improve ventilation, Central Railway has installed 92 additional energy-efficient BLDC fans and 33 air circulator fans across multiple stations

Central Railway’s Mumbai Division has upgraded passenger amenities across several stations as part of its continued push to enhance commuter comfort, accessibility and safety. The improvements, carried out through October 2025, include new escalators, energy-efficient fittings, upgraded passenger information systems and innovative ticketing support.
