Central Railway’s Mumbai Division operated an average of 193 Mail and Express trains per day in July 2025, marking an increase from 185 trains daily during the same period last year.
In total, the division ran 5,983 Mail and Express trains in July, including 213 special services. This is a 7 per cent rise from July 2024, when 5,742 trains were operated, which included 157 specials. The number of special trains alone registered a sharp 35 per cent increase year-on-year.
Alongside expanding operations, the Mumbai Division reported notable improvements in punctuality. Between April and July 2025, Mail and Express services achieved 57 per cent punctuality, up from 51 per cent during the corresponding period in 2024. Suburban train punctuality rose slightly to 93 per cent from 92 per cent.
