A tree house overlooking the Arabian Sea is coming up near Bandra Fort soon. The BMC got the approval for the project, which is part of the beautification of the suburbs, at the standing committee meeting on Wednesday.
The District Planning Committee (DPC) will fund the project, estimated to cost Rs 1.07 crore. The BMC will award the contract for the construction and maintenance of the tree house for two years. It will be in line with Old Woman’s Shoe at Kamala Nehru Park in Malabar Hill. The tree house will be like a tower having a height of a two-storey house. There will be entry and exit points. It will be primarily constructed with wood; cement will be limited only to the foundation.
