In a further drop in COVID-19 cases, Maharashtra recorded less than 3,000 fresh infections on Tuesday whereas the city saw 473 new cases. With about 2,294 fresh cases in the state, the total tally reached 19.94 lakh.

The state recorded a total of 50 deaths taking the toll to 50,523. The Thane Municipal Corporation, Navi Mumbai and Kalyan-Dombivli Corporation areas recorded 119, 59 and 63 fresh cases respectively, in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
