Covid-19 cases rise in Mumbai, but test positivity rate, fatalities dip

June 6 was for the first time in the second wave that the TPR dipped below 3. The doubling rate has continued to significantly improve and is now at 702 days.

Mumbai saw a rise in new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday but the test positivity rate and fatalities dipped as compared to Monday. As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) report, 575 new cases were reported across Mumbai on Tuesday. The TPR was 2.42 per cent, a little less than Monday’s TPR, which was 2.63 per cent.

After recording the lowest daily Covid-19 numbers in the second wave on June 3, Mumbai saw a rise in cases earlier last week but the numbers remained below the 1,000 mark. June 6 was for the first time in the second wave that the TPR dipped below 3. The doubling rate has continued to significantly improve and is now at 702 days.
