COVID-19: Maharashtra records 27 deaths, lowest since pandemic hit

The state continues to witness a downward trend in daily novel Coronavirus cases, whereas the city is still seeing fluctuations in the fresh number of infections. A day after reporting nearly 500 cases, Mumbai confirmed a little over 300 new ones on Monday.

The state continues to witness a downward trend in daily novel Coronavirus cases, whereas the city is still seeing fluctuations in the fresh number of infections. A day after reporting nearly 500 cases, Mumbai confirmed a little over 300 new ones on Monday. 

State health department officials confirmed 27 deaths, the lowest since the pandemic was declared in March. The total death toll now stands at 51,109. They registered 1,948 new cases across Maharashtra, including 328 in the city. With Monday’s figures, the state-wide total tally rose to over 20.28 lakh cases and Mumbai accounted for 3,09,303 of them.
