Covid-19: Mumbai’s cases below 400 for first time in second wave

The doubling rate continues to be on an upward trend and was 1,063 days on Tuesday. The recovery rate in the city has been constant at 97 per cent since increasing by 1 per cent recently. A total of 525 people recovered and were discharged on Tuesday

After a consistent rise in test positivity rate (TPR) for three consecutive days, the city saw the figure drop marginally to 1.59 per cent on Tuesday. Daily Covid-19 cases and deaths, too, declined. But the fresh infections dropped below 400 for the first time in the second wave.

According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s updated data, the city registered 351 new cases and 10 deaths. Among the 10 newly confirmed Covid-19 deaths, nine patients had comorbidities, six were senior citizens, three were in the 40-59 years age group.
