After recording the second wave’s lowest test positivity rate (TPR) at 0.53 per cent on Thursday, Mumbai saw a rise in TPR on Saturday at 0.74 per cent. The city, however, saw a dip in new cases as figures fell below 300. As per the BMC, 259 new cases were reported with five deaths in the city.
The rise in TPR can also be attributed to dip in testing done on Saturday. The doubling rate dipped for the third consecutive day and was 2,023 days. The city’s recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent as 281 people recovered and were discharged on Saturday.
